News From The Pumpkin Patch
34th SOHAM Pumpkin Fair 27th September 2008 Recreation Ground, Soham, Cambs As the morning mist lifted and the sun broke throught the crowds flocked into the soham Pumpkin Fair, making this year on of the most successful Fairs. Mr Mark Williams, Chair of The Soham Pumpkin Fair, was pleased to report that a substantial amount was raised for the New Scout and Guide Premises, "We've had a glorious day. The entries for the various classes were up on last year and the afternoon crowds really enjoyed the entertainment provided. As yet we do not have the final figure for the sum raised but I can certainly say we had a really successful day." A full list of results can be found here. This year the fair was without the National Pumpkin Championship, due to the withdrawl of the previous sponsor. However, the committee have had an interesting approach and it is hoped to announce shortly, that the Nationals may once again be returning to Soham.
