This year's Soham Pumpkin Fair will take place on

2010 sees the 36th anniversary of The Soham Pumpkin Fair. It is now one of the longest running events in Soham and we should like to thank all those that have generously supported this event over its many years.

The Soham Pumpkin Fair started life as a fund raising idea for the St Andrew's Church Roof Appeal. It was also a way of encouraging children and their parents to enter into friendly competition with one and another.

Since those small beginnings, like the giant pumpkins we see each year, the fair has grown and grown. During its thirty six years the Fair has raised around £40 000 for local charities, schools and organisations.

But its ideal remains the same, to encourage children and their families  to grow and care for their pumpkins, sunflowers and other produce and to enter into friendly competition.

All proceeds from this year will be donated to local charities and groups. This year's beneficiary will be:

St Andrews Primary School

The Weatheralls Primary School

Help for Heroes
